Smart Rehabilitation 3.0 project

Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs) can enrich traditional higher education on heritage and sustainability. In this framework, new MOOC modules are being introduced across four European universities participating in the Smart Rehabilitation 3.0 Erasmus plus programme (University of Cyprus, University Technological de Catalunya, University degli Studi di Palermo and Kaunas University of Technology).

 

The thematic areas of the courses cover subjects such as innovative rehabilitation methods and strategies focusing on minimum interventions for improved habitability, vernacular architecture, environmental design principles, timber structures and digital tools.

 

These free, online, and remote-access courses address the needs of professionals, students or graduates who want to tap into the vast potential of connecting the heritage, sustainability and rehabilitation sectors. The following courses are available online:

  • “CONSERVATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY OF VERNACULAR ARCHITECTURE, from the University of Cyprus (Cyprus)
  • ACCOMPANIED SELF-RENOVATION HABITABILITY AND SAFETY CONDITIONS
    IMPROVEMENT, from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Spain)
  • APPROACHES, TECHNIQUES AND INTERVENTIONS FOR THE REHABILITATION OR
    RESTORATION OF ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE from the University of Palermo (Italy);
  • WOODEN BUILT HERITAGE AS A RENEWABLE RESOURCE FOR LOCAL DEVELOPMENT
    from the Technological University of Kaunas (Lithuania)
